Heba Beydoun

Introducing Heba, a Sales Engineer at NESolutions and a frequent, valued customer at our Castle Hill Showroom.

What made you start 3D printing, and how long ago did you start?

During my engineering thesis in 2014, I used 3D printed parts to bring my ideas to life. However, I didn’t have a printer of my own until I met my then boyfriend, now husband, Josh. Credit goes to him for introducing me to the wonderful machines. We spent a few date nights assembling printers!

What made you pursue 3D printing as more than a hobby?

NEsolution is composed of engineers who have a passion for creative problem solving. The fact that we could incorporate 3D printing into our work allows us to truly use this exciting technology in endless ways.

What’s your favourite thing you’ve achieved over the years with 3D printing?

Many of our clients arrive with unique and niche ideas that we transform into material, tangible items so it’s hard to just narrow it down to just one thing.  I thoroughly enjoy being able to design and print functional assemblies for our customers. The ability to be a part of the entire manufacturing process is a key highlight in my job.

What’s your favourite 3D printer?

I would say for desktop FDM printers, I have a soft spot for Prusa’s. I also couldn’t live without an Anycubic SLA printer and would highly recommend one for all user levels!

Have you ever felt like being a woman in 3D printing has been a barrier to overcome?

Not at all. It’s a new technology and flourishing industry, which doesn’t come with any previous gender stereotypes. There are plenty of friendly people in the industry that share a passion for the new technology and just want to see the industry grow.

Do you have any advice for girls and women wanting to get into 3D printing?

Go for it! With endless resources online, it’s a perfect time to get a 3D printer and start creating. It has been a great learning curve and journey as it has exposed me to a vast array of industries that I would not have access to, had I not entered this special field of work.
