Technologies we use

At 3DPO, we specialise in four advanced 3D printing technologies: FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), SLA (Stereolithography), SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), and SLM (Selective Laser Melting – Metal), offering our clients a wide range of options and solutions tailored to their specific requirements.

FDM Printing

What is FDM Printing?

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a 3D printing process that uses a continuous strand of thermoplastic material extruded through a heated nozzle to build up a part layer by layer, and it is commonly used for rapid prototyping and for producing functional end-use parts.

Materials Available:

PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU (Flex), Nylon, Nylon CarbonFibre, PC, PEEK, Metal Fill & other specialty filaments.

Applications:

Rapid prototyping of larger models, producing functional end-use parts, producing custom jigs and fixtures, and producing low-volume production runs of parts.

SLA Printing

What is SLA Printing?

Stereolithography (SLA) is a 3D printing process that uses a laser to cure a photosensitive resin layer by layer to build up a part, and it is commonly used for producing high-resolution prototypes and small, precise parts with a smooth surface finish.

Materials Available:

Standard, ABS-Like, Nylon/Tough, PP-Like, Transparent, Flexible (50 & 80 Shore A), Castable & Dental resins.

Applications:

High-resolution prototypes, creating master patterns for casting & molding, producing small, precise parts with a smooth surface finish, and producing end-use parts for a wide range of applications including jewelry, dental and medical devices, and eyewear.

SLS Printing

What is SLS Printing?

Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a 3D printing process that uses a laser to sinter together fine particles of a powdered material layer by layer to build up a part, and it is commonly used for producing functional end-use parts, rapid prototyping, and low-volume production runs of complex, high-strength parts.

Materials Available:

PA12, PA11, PA12 Glass Fibre, PA11 Carbon Fibre

Applications:

Rapid prototyping of parts in high performance materials for application in severe conditions of temperature and strain, manufacture of final parts and reproduction of small batches continuously, manufacture of structured parts and high strengthto-weight ratio, manufacture of jigs and fixtures and other customized devices.

SLM Printing

What is SLM Printing?

Selective Laser Melting (SLM) uses a laser to melt and fuse together metallic powders layer by layer to build up a part, and it is commonly used for producing functional end-use parts, rapid
prototyping, and low-volume production runs of complex, high-strength metal parts.

Materials Available:

Stainless Steel (304L, 316L), Tool materials, Aluminum, Titanium, Nickel, Cobalt-Chrome & other metal alloys.

Applications:

Rapid prototyping, low-volume production runs of complex, high-strength metal parts, creating custom jigs and fixtures, and producing end-use parts for a wide range of applications including aerospace, automotive, and medical.

3D Printing In Industry
Automotive

3DPO’s team specialises in the development of 3D models and CAD designs. With these skills, we can walk our clients through the design of a project to the eventual 3D printing of the product.

Production of custom and personalized pieces, rapid prototyping of design concepts, and the creation of detailed models for visualization and presentation.

3D Scanning & CAD Services
3D Design and Project Development

3DPO’s team specialises in the development of 3D models and CAD designs. With these skills, we can walk our clients through the design of a project to the eventual 3D printing of the product.

3D Scanning Services

Using high resolution scanners equipment (blue laser & LED light), we provide 3D scanning of technical parts and projects as well as larger structures (On-Site service). The process can be used to obtain a virtual model of a complex part, assess wear on components, scan panels and dimensional analysis applications.

Designing for Additive Manufacturing

Design for additive manufacturing uses the 3D printing process as the main tool for manufacturing parts. Our skilled team can create models with high resistance to weight ratio, complex geometries and custom designs at a much lower cost than traditional manufacturing processes.
